CARS

Ok so I would love to me amused easily as kids.

My dad went to American Fork to a dealership to look a truck that Ronny wanted to buy. Well tha man who was selling the truck to my brother lives on my street and Logan plays with his grandson often. So while this man is talking to my brother about the truck and finacial stuff, you know important stuff. Well Logan was so excited that he was his friends grandpa so he just went on and on about what they would play and how much fun they had. So my dad trying to save the sale decided to take Logan to look around the cars.

Well they went around the showroom and there you are able to get in the cars so he looked inside those cars for a while when he got bored and wanted to see more cars. My dad took him out onto the lot to look at the cars. There Logan proceeded to try and open the cars but they all seemed to be locked. Well this started his quest. He tried every single car on the lot to see if any were unlocked. He found two, when he was done checking the cars it was just about time for them to go.

Right as they were about to leave Logan looked at our neighbor and said your cars are just incredible thanks for letting me have a go at them.

Where do they come up with this stuff. Man they crack me up.

PRAY

Ok so any of you that have kids know that you laugh with them, you love them, you get upset with them, you cry with them, and they can scare the crap out of you. Well logan has a razor scooter and a big boy bike. These two things are so scary because I have never seen a child his age go that fast without crashing or running into anything...Ok I have never seen some adults or teenagers do the things he does.

We live in a circle and he is only allowed to go around the circle part and not down the street, and he is to look both ways before he is to cross the street. So knowing thins he will start off at our driveway (which is smack dab in the middle of the street), he gets on his bike and rides like a bat out of hell. As soon as he gets to where he needs to cross he he hits the brakes and skids and he knows exactly how far back he needs to stop so he doesnt go into the street.
Then he will cross with no problem at all and he never has any crashes on his bike he has gone down some stairs and off a pretty high drop and he rides it into our sloped garage to park it and will skid down the hill.

Then with the scooter he has amazing balance knows how to use the brake and can manuvere that thing like no one else I have seen, espescially for his age.

I can handle sports I can handle bikes and scooters but I know the stupid things and all the broken bones with me as a kid and I can only imagine. He is a daredevil when it comes to speed he loves to go fast he always tells us in the car to go faster and pass the other cars up. What have I raised a speed demon. Crap... Although he has a talent I will give him that because he can sure move those fast things around any object with out even batting an eyelash.
So what to do with a speed demon, PRAY...

Trains Trains and more Trains

So anyone who knows my son to any degree should know that he is obsessed with trains. His obsession is borderline addiction, and I did not know that a four year could experience addiction.
Well he has multiple toys when I say multiple he is an only child from divorced parents and he lives in grandma and grandpas house, yeah he is spoiled. He has cars, games, leappads, a castle, little people play sets, monsters inc toys, toy story toys, pirate toys, DVDs ok well I think you get the point.

So my point to this blog is that from the time he was 18 months he has had this adoration to trains. He has five different train sets. It doesn't matter which one he is plying with it is just like he just got it and the excitement is there every time. He has to show you the different ways he has built the track, and the cars and engines and the caboose. He knows more about trains than anyone else I know, he knows what a breakdown train looks like and what its for and what the coal car is and the freight cars(ok sadly I had no idea what a freight car was until he explained to me). He has the books and Thomas stuff galore and he knows all there names its scary really.

Well about 4 months ago we were at Hamons toy store and they sell the really expensive train sets that you put together and put the trees and grass and it is really a collectors item. He was in seventh heaven... The guy behind the counter was showing someone this train part out of the catalog they had, Logan was so interested in the details of every page that the employer gave him the catalog. He had me read it to him constantly, well its a catalog much to read but he had fun. Well yesterday he found it and it was just like the guy had just given it to him for the first time. We had to read it over again. It is so funny how he is with this stuff.
My point to this blog is that we should not let the little things go unnoticed and that we should not take for granted the little things we have, make everything we have just as exciting as the first time we got it.
Love you all.

Happy Whatever

The 24th for me was a great an exciting day.
I always forget that people outside of Utah don't get to share in the same fun that we Utahn's do, which is celebrating the 24th of July.

It is mostly celebrated the exact same way that the 4th is celebrated only we admire the fact that pioneers crossed the plains to make it to this specific place and decided to stop and say, "This is the Place." Anyways I always seem to send out text to my friends saying stuff like Merry Christmas, for those of you who are of other faiths, Happy Hanukkah. Well today being the 24th I sent out a text to most of my friends and family, and it read Happy 24th. I got many replies as why I decided to send some random text message... I sat there and wondered why most of my family and a few of my friends were replying in this manner. Wonderful question, well it hit when I tried to call a government run office and realized with the message on their machine that it was a STATEWIDE holiday.

Some of my friends and family are Mormon, and some not so with this in mind I decided to just be cool and say hey I was just making sure you were having a happy 24th because I sure the hell am!!! I left it at that.

Meanwhile, I had done some shopping, got my son out of the bath, into his jammies, and ready for the fireworks. Leaving my cell phone inside and not even thinking about it, I mean after all we were going outside to do pop its and watch cheesy fireworks with our awesome neighbors, (and by the way that awesome is spoken in a Jersey accent). After all the fireworks were done and the excitement had died down it was bed time. Everyone can sleep except for me I finished Harry Potter and was wondering what I should do when it hit me. I don't have my cell, its usually always on me.

I had 15 texts when I finally found where I had placed my phone. Most of them saying how weird i was or still questioning my wishes earlier on today. However I had three people text me saying how much of a shit I was because I always do stupid things and seem to think they are stupid in the process. I just had to look at these and laugh in reply to most of those text did you not read my last blog I had just come out with how much of a nerd I really am and if you don't like it tough. LOL...

Oh and the parade wasn't too bad even though we had already seen the floats in the judgment show yesterday yay!!!

So to all of you out there Happy 24th!!!

WOW WHO KNEW

So have you ever had that feeling that you have come to realize what you are? Well today I have figured out how much of a nerd I really am. I mean I knew I was a nerd but alot of that I was feeding off of other people.

Well today something happened, actually I think it started at about 10:00 pm last night. I went to a Harry Potter Party at Barnes and Nobles to get the book at midnight. It's not just the mere fact that I went to the party or that I was going with one of my friends who could recite the books to you on the spot. It was that I was extremely excited to go to this party!!! As soon as we walked into the door I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning, well that's not a good example because I still feel that way about Christmas. Ok more like when you are little and you get something for the first time and you are so excited about it your little body just cant contain itself. You want to scream and jump for joy. Well when you are a kid you can get away with it, but I did it anyways.

I didn't dress up, although I really wanted to I just didn't have a costume. When we walked in the door I felt right at home with all the other nuts. They gave us Harry Potter glow in the dark glasses and I flirted with a worker there just so that once the hype has died down he will give me his hat. Which he said yes too yay!!! I was walking around and admiring people who dressed up and I even went to the people who had brought a real rat in the store which they had named Scabbers.

Well ten seconds to midnight they did a countdown and as soon as we hit one me and me alone yelled out happy new year, I got quite a few interesting looks, it also would have been nice to be by that cute worker to kiss him after I had said that. Any who I got my book and on our way out the door having my book in hand I yelled out oh no Harry's dead and ran off to the car as quick as I could.

When I got home it was all I could do to stay awake to read the book and right now I am trying to get this done so I can read some more.

Well tonight I went for a drive with a friend and as I am driving and talking extremely fast with no filtration system on whatsoever it struck me right then and there, in the middle of my fries, how much of a nerd I really am and how proud I am to be that way. I feel like singing I am proud to be a nerd all around but to the music of I am proud to be an American.

I am a Nerd not because I want to fit in, definitely the wrong way to go there if I wanted to fit in, not because I want to stand out, not because I had married a nerd and was trained that way, not because my friends are nerds, not to pretend in any way shape or form, but because that is what I want and that is who I am. It has taken me a while to really arrive at this conclusion, that this is who I am this is who I want to be and if anyone wants different I am sorry I am not changing for you, so come off it!!! NERD
