So the third graders at Hunters school have a catapult project. This project is for their force and motion lessons, however it becomes a contest to see which parent can come up with the best catapult for their child. Hunter came to us on Tuesday with his sheet that he had, had for a week saying it was due on Thursday. That gave us two days to work on it and get it to launch far. We made our trip to Lowes and ended up with about 100 dollars worth of stuff when we realized this project is not worth 100 dollars so we simplified, ALOT. We got home and worked and worked and worked until 11 p.m. on Wednesday night until Ta da the finished project. Now the real question would it work and would it work well. So we went into the street about 11:30 and launched golf balls, wood, a candy bar, and a penny it worked great so we went to bed and Hunter was happy. Thursday was not the competition just to make sure everything was ready on Friday they would test it with the whole grade. Hunters won 1st in his class and 1st in the third grade. He was so excited and was telling everyone he knew he won 1st. Here are a few pics of his catapult.
